ENGIE

For us, diversity is not just a moral imperative, it's a powerhouse of innovation, growth, and success. We've long recognized its critical role, especially in the energy industry, as a catalyst that propels us towards a brighter, more inclusive future.
At ENGIE, we stand firm in our belief that true economic advancement is one that radiates positivity and growth to all involved. We create a nurturing environment where every employee and potential candidate is inspired to bring their unique skills, experiences, and individuality to the forefront.

Our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is not just a strategy, but a beacon of sustainable performance that pushes us forward. This commitment aligns seamlessly with our global agreement on human rights and social responsibility, proudly signed in 2022.
Implementing Our DEI Strategy

Implementing an ambitious DEI strategy across a diverse workforce of 96,000 employees is indeed a monumental task. To streamline our efforts, we have identified five key dimensions: Gender Parity, Generations, Abilities, LGBTQ+, and Origins.

Each dimension receives concentrated attention at the international level, supplemented by initiatives that are customized to address the unique needs of each country.

This approach ensures a comprehensive and inclusive strategy that truly resonates with all our employees.
Implementing Our DEI Strategy
Gender Parity
We are committed to promoting gender diversity within the Group, championing a cultural shift and fostering an evolution in attitudes towards a work environment that is both inclusive and unbiased.

  • Preventing and combating domestic violence: We are steadfast in our commitment to prevent and combat domestic violence, reinforcing measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees.

  • Sexism and sexual harassment: We operate under a zero-tolerance policy, ensuring a respectful and inclusive environment for everyone.

Fifty-fifty Program
Our Fifty-Fifty program is designed with the aim of attracting a greater number of women to the Group and achieving managerial parity. These are among the key non-financial objectives we strive to accomplish annually, reflecting our commitment to gender equality and diversity.
Multigenerational Talent
Under the Generations banner, we aim to harness the talent and vitality of all age groups. We place particular emphasis on enhancing the employability of both young individuals embarking on their careers and seniors who bring a wealth of experience and wisdom.

Commitment to Local Empowerment
We are dedicated to actively recruiting local nationals, reinforcing our workforce while contributing to the nation's pursuit of sustainable development and economic growth. To bolster this initiative, we have launched a graduate program specifically designed to nurture local talent and foster their professional growth.

  • Empowering Diverse Youth: In KSA, we have championed the professional growth of four Saudi nationals by sponsoring their relocation to work abroad in one of our numerous locations. This initiative fosters a global perspective and enhances their career development.

  • Work-Study Initiatives: On a local level, ENGIE sponsors programs such as supporting 13 women in advancing their careers in the field of desalination, furthering our commitment to gender diversity and industry-specific skill development.

  • Alliance for YOUth: Our focus is on preparing the younger generation for the future. Regionally, we conduct various developmental courses with university students, encouraging them to explore opportunities within the energy sector. Through our internship program, students gain hands-on experience working alongside our experts, gaining valuable insights into the progression of our business.
Embracing Diversity in Abilities
We are committed to adapting our organization and working conditions to accommodate and include individuals with varying abilities. In 2016, ENGIE proudly signed the Global Business and Disability Charter, reinforcing our dedication to fostering the professional growth of people with disabilities on a global scale.

At ENGIE, we believe in enhancing diversity by acknowledging and appreciating the richness of each individual's unique background—be it cultural, ethnic, national, religious, social, or educational. Reflecting the global spirit of our region, we welcome individuals from all corners of the world to live and work with us. This openness and diversity are not just embraced but celebrated as a source of enrichment for everyone.

ENGIE Women Empowerment Campaign
ENGIE's steadfast commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) forms the bedrock of its success in the energy industry. Our comprehensive approach ensures that every employee feels empowered to bring their authentic self to work, creating a vibrant and inclusive environment that is vital for leading the energy transition.
